A. In the City of Whitehorse, all persons operating a snowmobile are required to have a Safe Snowmobiler Card and must carry the card while operating a snowmobile. In addition to having the Card, all snowmobile operators must be 16 years of age, have a valid driver's license, a valid policy of public liability insurance and up-to-date snowmobile registration.

A. No. Although hands-on snowmobile safety training is a good idea for all new and novice riders, you are not required to take formal snowmobile training in order to obtain your Safe Snowmobiler Card.

Q. Is there a time limit to complete the online course?

A. You can take the online course at any time, day or night. However, courses must be completed within 90 days of payment at which time your access to the course will expire.
